The Amicitia France-Canada Monument has been nominated for the Prix de l'horizon franco-ontarien awarded by the Assemblée de la francophonie de l'Ontario (AFO).

Christophe Raisonnier has been named Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour.

         January 18, 2023 – 6e anniversaire (2017) de la 1846e section (Canada) de la Société Nationale d’Entraide de la Médaille Militaire (SNEMM)

 

                   January 21, 2023 – 30th anniversary (1993) of the creation of the Canadian Victoria Cross awarded for the most conspicuous bravery, a daring or pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice, or extreme devotion to duty, in the presence of the enemy. This decoration perpetuates the lineage of the British Victoria Cross that was created by Queen Victoria in 1856.

 

         January 22, 2023 – 171st anniversary of the creation of the Military Medal by Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, future Napoléon II.

The monument

AMICITIA France-Canada is the national monument that is erected in Ottawa at the Beechwood National Cemetery to recognize more than four centuries of shared history and heritage and over 90 years of official diplomatic relations between France and Canada.

Beyond the timeless memorial, Amicitia wants to entrust to future generations, through their civic engagement, the mission of keeping alive our unique fraternal friendship between France and Canada.
